“Delightful Days in Dunsborough”

Featured

On the 16th and 17th of August I took a trip to the South West of Western Australia. The holiday was set for Dunsborough, but also planned Margaret River and Cowaramup as well. Planning was fun and I loved packing bathers, a book, and dresses even though it was Winter in Australia.

On the way to Dunsborough we stopped of at the Bunbury Markets and I couldn’t believe how big it was! Lots of tomatoes….. plus vegetables, fruits and I got a $10 fruit watermelon juice which was absolutely delicious.

Flowers in Bunbury Markets were gorgeous!

I stopped by to smell the roses.

After about two hours drive from Bunbury, or maybe an hour or so we arrived at the motel which was called the Bay Village Resort and Spa Dunsborough. It was small but a 4 star hotel. I thought it was a cute place and I was able to place my laptop on the round dining table, and relax on the couches while watching The Voice that night. I did my nails, when I went to the Dunsborough Centrepoint shopping centre I bought a nice coloured nail polish, and a few essentials for staying there.

How cute was my little room! All set out elegantly, and nice bathroom towels. It felt luxurious.

We set off on a small adventure on the Monday, but did most things on the Tuesday.

Of course, I found a gorgeous little bookstore that had a book I loved! Text and Co had a lovely lady that I was able to chat with. I went into this store the Monday and Tuesday! and she was delightful to talk to – I was eager to buy a particular book but didn’t yet.

Books Books Books!

On the Tuesday we went straight for coffee at Merchant and Maker which was in the town of Dunsborough, and I loved to look around at the products on display! It is like a general store where they sell health products but also serve tea and coffee etc. You can follow Merchant and Maker on Instagram.

They had a variety of products. I didn’t buy anything, but I enjoyed my Skinny Weak Latte!

Next stop was Indian summer and Co. Which I had a look at the products and candles firstly, but then when I looked at the clothes I was completely drawn to a $50 white dress on SALE!!!! It was stunning, and casual and flows that I felt I HAD to buy it! It was meant to be….. The shop is an Australian brand that have floaty, feminine pieces that give a beauty to women that love to shop all things vintage inspired dresses. You can follow them on Facebook at Indian Summer and Co.

These are the gorgeous products that were on display.

We then went to the Dunsborough Shopping Mall, and I had heard about a Health Food Store, that we decided to check out Naturaliste Health which is on the corner of where there are shops lined along where the car park is.

I had another coffee, and then a Monet Toastie! It was the best toastie I had ever tasted and I am being totally honest.

I loved the little health food store. It was like a stop by place where you can get coffee and food, and also buy products in the store inside.

They do the most amazing IGTV videos on their Instagram page! Full of vibrancy and good energy!

Can you tell the toastie was DELICIOUS!?

We then took off on a drive to Margaret River, and went to Happs Wines. It was like entering into an adventure, it was magical seeing the beautiful scenery, and there wasn’t just wine.

There was pottery! It was like a small museum with lots of knick knacks, and antique looking things. I wasn’t taken by anything as I am not a pottery person but it was interesting going in there.

I headed to the back area where you can probably see on my TikTok that I did some wine tasting. I decided to buy the Fuchsia Happs Wine, as it was soft and fruity and my kind of Rose’! We went to Margaret River town and also Cowaramup and I bought this lovely picnic basket along with some food type goodies.

The book “The Paris Library” was from Text and Co. Yes, I decided to buy the book for $35.

We then went to Stella Bella Wines in Margaret River, and did a bit of wine tasting.

A few vineyards! and the sun was shining on a Winter day! We were so lucky!

After we had experienced these little towns we went back to the motel and I decided to have a little dip in the spa. Well, not a dip, more like sitting…..

Went back to the motel, and got ready to go out and have dinner. We went to a little Thai place that was right next to the motel and I had the usual Chicken and Cashew Nuts! My favourite Thai dish! The restaurant was called Bamboo Spice. You can follow them on their Facebook page Bamboo Spice here.

The next day we had another coffee at Naturaliste Health and another toastie – Thos Monet toasties are just the best! Then headed back home. We stopped by a friends coffee place in Bunbury Paper Route where they supplied the cakes. So I had a Spiced Chai Carrot Cake and took it home! Follow them on Instagram at Paper Route.

The 2 days holiday was amazing and I would do it all over again. In fact, in January I will be going to Busselton so I will be planning to go to all those places again.

I had a ball, and absolutely loved it all! I also bought Dandelion tea from the health food store which is great health wise! Please visit my Health and Wellness website which I will update with a Roast Veggie Pasta recipe up on the blog tonight! Will post on this blog too for your reference, just so you don’t miss out!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the small time I had in Dunsborough. It was “delightful” those two “days”!

Doterra Party

A couple of weeks ago I took a road trip to Cunderdin with a friend, and we attended a Doterra party at her friends home. I never used to be interested in oils, but I have learnt over time the benefits of it for the mind, and soul.

What are essential oils?

Pure extracts from plants (50-70 times more powerful than herbs)

Natures defence mechanism for plants and cells

Used anciently and throughout history for health benefits (I recently read in a book that there are 670 references to oils in the bible!) In which I hope to buy “The Healing Oils of the bible” by David Stewart.

Highly concentrated (1 drop of peppermint essential oil = 28 cups of peppermint tea!

Safe, effective, affordable, and an alternative to synthetic remedies

I took an interest in some particular oils that I think will be good for me.

Frankincense – We all know this oil from the nativity story,…. It is a calming oil to help with mood and relaxation

Balance

Lavender Peace – I couldn’t find this on the website, but I think it may be “Serenity” as it has lavender in it.

Fractionated Coconut Oil

Doterra Oils provide QUALITY, safe, effective products and plants are grown and oils harvested in their natural habitat.

They are the most purest oils you can find in the earth.

Essential Oils help you take control of your health naturally.

You can use essential oils internally (drink it), topically (on the skin) and aromatically (inhale it or you can use a diffuser)

Essential Oils don’t replace traditional medication, however they provide a natural alternative to commonly used medicine.

Doterra helps you build on a foundation of good nutrition and supplementation, but you still need to exercise daily, get adequate sleep and eat right while using essential oils freely.

Other examples of single oils are Basil, Coriander, Lemongrass, Lime, Peppermint, Tea Tree, Wild Orange, Grapefruit, Rosemary, and Sandlewood.

Oil Blends are Aroma touch, Citrus Bliss, Easy Air, Ice Blue, DigestZen and Smart & Sassy.

There is also skincare (face wash, lotion and cleanser), spa (hand and body lotion and lip balm) and salon essentials Hair Care! And you can also buy supplements/tablets online.

 http://doterra.com/en/ourProducts/otherProducts/supplements

The lady that gave the presentation was so knowledgable in the area, and helped me choose the right oils for me.

So, I will be buying those four oils when I can, so I can have a healthy mind and spirit. I feel like I need these to get through life! There is just something therapeutic about smelling them.

SeaSource Detox Spa

It’s Monday. I sleep in, but the day isn’t over yet! I go for a ride with Mum and to my delight there is a box / package for me! I have been talking and collaborating with Arbonne’s very own Independent Consultant, Angelica Guttierrez in California. She just had a conference (retreat training) in Los Angelos, and it all sounds very exciting, and full of fun! Click HERE to view her profile. She talks about why she is so passionate about Arbonne and tells a little about herself. I think it is MORE than awesome to talk about why you are so passionate about certain things, and she is passionate about others having a healthy and exceptional lifestyle.

After I buy my Royal Life magazine, I head home to treat myself with these wonderful products I have received. I pop the kettle on, and to my amazement there is “Herbal Tea” in the package already!!!

There is also a Herbal “DETOX” tea which is a dietary supplement that you can find on the Arbonne website under the Nutrition tab. The tea is made from milk thistle and will cleanse/detox your liver and kidneys. It is a part of their 30 Days to Healthy Living Program. It also has peppermint and dandelion in it which is purely botanical.

HERBAL TEA

KEEP CALM & DRINK ARBONNE HERBAL TEA

The first thing I try is the Seasource Detox Spa – Sea mud face and body mask. I only put it on my face, and will try it on my body next time. It just glides on, and as I am typing, I can feel it tightening, and it feels wonderful on the skin. You can tell it is full of sea minerals, as it has a light feel and smells sea-like. Two more minutes and then I shall rinse it off, It feels like it is getting tighter, and more clay like now. I take a sip of my Arbonne Essentials herbal tea, which is caffeine free, and it makes me feel relaxed. I go to the bathroom to wash off the mud mask, and oh my goodness!!! As it comes off I feel my skin is SOOO soft!!! My skin has actually not felt this soft in a while!!!! I kid you not, this is the best mud mask I have tried, as it was easy to apply, is light but a thick paste.

Arbonne Mud Mask Review Vanity Fairest

A MUD MASK is definitely worth it, and will leave you feeling clean, as it refines your pores.

And OMG – I step into the shower and put on the Foaming Sea Salt Scrub. I have never felt such a luxurious shower product in all my life!!!! You can feel the beads working on your skin, and you are meant to squeeze just a generous amount of it onto palms and briskly massage all over your body. I mainly did my chest, and arms just while trying the product and all I can say is, this is an AMAZING product. For a luxurious at home spa product, this is the way to go! It is full of citrus oil and you can smell it while putting it on!!! It smells heavenly and divine!!! and very tropical….

9-DAY BEAUTY PROGRAM

the-mind-beauty-connection

At the moment my bible is “The mind-beauty connection” by Amy Wechsler. It is a guide to reduce stress in your life, to make you look young, and feel more beautiful than ever before. I borrowed it from the library, but if you want to buy it, go here.

The best chapter is Chapter 4, which is a program that runs for nine days. There are 5 types of stress profiles. Each profile has a tailor made program to suit your individual needs.

I chose profile 5 because I have gotten back into the habit of biting my nails, and need to create new habits.

The following is an example of a nine-day program you can choose from:

Day One:

SIMPLIFY

Out with the old, in with the new. Toss out all old skincare products, and start a fresh with a gentle facial cleanser, daily moisturizer and night cream. Refer to my blog, “How to be a lady – Personal grooming” or “3 Step pampering session” for a daily grooming routine. The book also has examples of skincare products such as Dove, Aveeno and Clinique, etc.

You need to establish a regular sleep schedule. Simplifying your bed and beauty routine is easy. It says that it is best to wash your face twice a day, once in the morning when you get up, and just before bedtime. I try to do this religiously but sometimes am lazy. 4 to 6 hours before bed, don’t drink ANY caffeine. Have dinner early, and turn off the TV and all electronics about an hour to half an hour before bed. The light stimulates the brain, and can keep you awake. Dim the bedroom lights and have warm milk or chamomile tea just before bedtime. You will feel refreshed in the morning.

Day Two:

RELAX

Establish daily breathing exercises. A five-minute breathing exercise can help keep cortisol levels in check and psychologically prepare you for the day. Google some breathing exercises. There are plenty to choose from!!!

Safflower Oil. Olive Oil can also be a substitute for putting on your body.

Day Three:

Step out into nature. Make it a goal to get outdoors for twenty minutes everyday. Walking in nature can be extremely therapeutic.

Have a milk bath. Use Bee Naturals, Queen Bee Milk Bath. Try Honey Sugar Scrub right before doing it.

MILK BATH

Day Four:

EAT CLEAN

Avoid fast food and processed foods. Drink water or green tea throughout the day. I have started drinking T2 Indian Spice. It feels like it really cleanses the insides of my body. Check out the range on the T2 WEBSITE!!!!

Honey Mask. Honey is a natural humectant. My friend Kirsty of The Beauty Bus makes a honey mask, and I will upload the recipe in the next blog. 🙂

Day Five:

GET ACTIVE

Schedule 30 minutes of exercise daily. You should engage in physical activity at least three times a week to get your heart rate up. Borrow exercise DVD’s from the local library.

Manicure/Pedicure.

manucure

Day Six:

FOSTER FRIENDSHIPS

Plan a dinner with family and friends. Your social life is important. If you love to cook, invite your friends over for a delicious meal or go out to a favourite restaurant.

Day Seven:

PAMPER YOURSELF

Learn to meditate. I’m a spiritual person, and I believe whatever you read or listen to affects your brain. Put on some classical music to unwind, or your favourite slow music.

Spa Treatment. Save up for a girl’s day out to a DAY SPA. They are expensive, but you won’t regret it. Or just sprinkle Divine Calm Serenity Milk Bath Powder in the bath, and light some candles, and create your OWN spa treatment. Check out RED BALLOON‘s DEALS.

Day Eight:

SLEEP-IN BEAUTY

Sleep in or try napping. Naps can improve heart function, and repairs cells to help you live longer.

Exfoliate. Buy a body exfoliation such as Goddess Body Exfoliator for $20, or try making one. I will put a recipe for this in the next blog as well to help save you money.

Day Nine:

REFLECT

Reflect on your week. Do you feel physically and emotionally better than last week?

Back to basics. Get back to “Day One” and read the book I recommended. If you read Chapter 5 and 6, it has everything to do with the skin, and will leave you feeling your BEST ever!!!!

Enjoy reading!!!
