With the introduction of baby Archie in May, people were closely watching how Meghan Markle would make his introduction to the world unique to them.
She’s been a bit unconventional in a few ways by royal standards — she’s biracial, a divorcee, and American — and has already broken a few of the pregnancy traditions. Baby showers are not common practice in the U.K., yet Meghan had one in February in NYC. Additionally, Meghan and Harry opted to wait a few days to reveal Archie, unlike Prince William and Kate who have shared glimpses of their newborns the day leaving the hospital.
While there has been some leniency with a few of the birthing traditions of the years, there are a few that will remain customary. The team at Hola put together this great guide on some of the pregnancy, birthing, and post-birth traditions of the royal family. Check out below the traditions over the years.
