The Haunting of a Duke
17 August 2012
Communing with spirits has been both gift and curse to Emme Walters. Now it’s made her a killer’s target. Emme knows why the Dowager Duchess of Briarleigh invited her to a house party–to investigate whether the duke, Rhys Brammel, murdered his wife years ago. But Emme never imagined she would fall in love with the brooding duke.
Branded by society as a possible killer, Rhys is suspicious of Emme and her alleged “gift.” Then a late night encounter creates awareness of her other, more attractive, aspects. When Emme’s life is threatened, Rhys becomes her protector. Emme and Rhys find passion and peril as they join forces to solve the mysteries at Briarleigh. She made him believe in spirits, but can she make him believe in love?
You can read some reviews on this Dark Regency on Good Reads here. I haven’t read it myself yet, but it seems it has not just intrigue but a bit of a paranormal, mysticism side to it with a blend of historical romance. I can imagine this murder and mystery type read would intrigue those that like a blend of the two!
Omg! Could not wait to get back to reading this book every chance I could! Love the love story/fiery romance and mystery all in one! Can’t wait to read the next 5 books in the Dark Regency series!”—Amazon Review
“This story was so good it really deserves more than 5 stars. I was hooked from page one, I love a good HR but this was so much more. Murder, mystery, ghostly goings on, not to mention the sizzling attraction between Emme and Rhys I could not put this story down.” —Goodreads Review
About the author
Chasity Bowlin lives in central Kentucky in a house that has more character than woking parts. She loves writing, loves traveling and enjoys incorporating tidbits of her actual vacations into her books. She is an avid Anglophile, loving all things British, but specifically all things Regency.
Growing up in Tennessee, spending as much time as possible with her doting grandparents, soap operas were a part of her daily existence, followed by back to back episodes of Scooby Doo. Her path to becoming a romance novelist was set when, rather than simply have her Barbie dolls cruise around in a pink convertible, they time traveled, hosted lavish dinner parties and one even had an evil twin locked in the attic.
Addicted to caffeine, chocolate and internet cats, Chasity loves hearing from readers and can be reached at ChasityBowlin@gmail.com.
A Lady’s Vanishing Choices
16 December 2015
A romantic thriller set in Regency England. If you’re looking for a Regency historical, this is it.
It has well-developed characters and plot line.
After running away, Bethany Littleton, alone in a forest, witnesses a man burying a roll large enough to hold a corpse. She thinks she has escaped undetected, but danger follows her.
Lord Rivton is in search of a spy and must investigate Bethany’s family, his closest neighbor.
Both at cross purposes, the sparks fly, and when he rescues her, he places her in a compromising position. They marry as expected, but their road is not smooth. She is still in mortal danger. He must find and capture the killer/spy while trying to save his wife. A tattered string weaves together this tale of murder, abduction, and espionage.
The book offers romance, murder, and surprising plot twists.
If you are a fan of regency romance, I highly recommend you read this book.
