How to find inspiration

Everyday we all want something more….. a dream to fulfil, aspirations to achieve, goals to accomplish, but where do we find a source of inspiration?

I particularly love the actual MEANING of inspiration.

It is the process of being mentally stimulated to DO or FEEL something, whilst pursuing creativity in what you are doing, thinking, creating or performing.

So, do you think it is time to get some inspiration? Whether its work, life, schooling, we all need it. My suggestion would be to create vision boards, or maps, or any sort of way to collate your favourite things together, and create something that would make you feel proud, and feel something of achievement.

I am currently working on a few things, and I need to make an article longer, and the first thing I thought of was ‘inspiration’ – I need it more and more. It is one of my favourite words in the world – why? because creativity is an outlet for me to express, and my mentality is to keep doing creative things. My passion lies within creativity.

I am passionate about a lot of things, books, music, theatre, history, royal life, english history, BBC TV series, blogging, scrap-booking, quilting, and loads more that I can’t even think of right now! I have become totally passionate about books and manuscripts seeing that I am doing library studies at the moment, and I want to ask you, what are you passionate about? There are tons of things out there, and we all have something at least to find a passion in! Gardening, card-making, watching movies, whatever you basically like to read!

Once you find your passion, then you find your calling.

When I first started blogging, one of the nicest things a lady from Sydney said to me was, ‘this is your calling’. I never, in a billion years, thought I would be doing something like it, or even think of writing for my own website. A lot of times, I say to myself is “I have a website?” Even though I have been doing it for a little while, I still get excited at the thought that I have my own WEBSITE. If you are starting out, or need inspiration for writing, I suggest you read a lot of articles, and just type into google things that you like or type keywords that are to do with ‘inspirational writing’ or a particular keyword that is specific to your kind of writing.

I have a blog coming up that I am excited to share with you, as it is to do with, well, books! Because of my interest in a wide variety of books and manuscripts I have become thoughtful of types of posts I will do, what I want to do with my life, and so on and so forth.

I particularly wanted to do this post on inspiration because like I said, its my favourite WORD, and I love to google things like, ‘inspiration for writing’ or ‘quotes that will help you write more’. There are tons of articles out there, you just need to, well, basically, Google!

Today I went to the Scarborough library, and picked up a few that I will share in my next post, but for now I will leave you with a few articles.

  1. 31 ways to find inspiration for your writing
  2. 20 things that can help you find inspiration for writing
  3. 11 writers on writing inspiration
  4. How to get inspired to write in 10 minutes

Content and consistency is everything. I also read recently that when it comes to blogging, one whole article a week is to be looked at less, than three short posts a week. So I will be trying to do more posts with less words, instead of something that is like 3000 words, which is what I have been doing lately. I don’t want to bore you, and I prefer to keep my readership the way it is going. I am absolutely ecstatic at how many followers I have for someone who has only been doing it for a year. I actually also didn’t know that blogging has been about since 1997!!!! My!

These articles hints, tips and ideas are surely to give you a breath of fresh air for your writing. I am in the process of novel writing, but am unsure of the plot and storyline, so going to the library and picking up books that appeal to me, (with a lady or duchess on the cover) is sure to be something that will keep me occupied with reading.

Do what you LOVE.

and live creatively…..

It is called Plot & Structure: Techniques and Exercises for Crafting a Plot That Grips Readers from Start to Finish. It is an AMAZING book and has helped me with plotting novels.
