Completely Cosmetics (Part 1) Finding the right foundation

beauty-products

When choosing a foundation you need to take into consideration your skin type and shades available. The colour you choose is VERY important. ALWAYS make sure that you test the foundation in natural light. When in a store or pharmacy the bright lights may not show the colour right.

If you have oily skin, it is best to use OIL-FREE foundations, such as:

Revlon’s New Complexion Oil Free

The light weight formula gives you a perfectly smooth, even tones skin.

I love using MAC STUDIO FIX which I always buy from either the Myer or David Jones department store. It gives a total matte finish, which gives a flattering, natural look, and is $50.

I honestly think MAC Cosmetics has the best range of foundations, and the best beauty products. So, go to your nearest department store, and check out what they’ve got! This is another reason why I CAN’T WAIT to move to Perth!!!! I miss all the big department stores where I can just go SHOP!!! and do makeovers nearly EVERY DAY! Well, not every day, but almost!

It is up to you on what foundation you want to buy, we can all be fussy!!! Sometimes we have our favourites! and MAC is the way to go for me. I like how you can get a powdery liquid one as well. I don’t mind liquid, but sometimes powder has a much more matte effect. It gives a more natural look as liquid can be a bit spongey, and you have to rub it in right, otherwise it can look either orangey, or too dark.

For a while I haven’t really worn makeup, as in a small town, makeup isn’t what girls talk about and you don’t really have the “glamorous lifestyle” like you do in Melbourne! When I lived in the city, and worked full-time I wore makeup everyday because I believed it was professional and clean, and presenting yourself nicely has an affect on the people around you.

For cheap recommendations, I suggest you have a look at Maybelline Superstay 24 hour foundation Pure Beige or Maybelline Fit Me Foundation #135 Creamy Natural which is hydra smooth, and it smoothes out the skin texture, and creates a dewy and luminous look! It is only $7.99!

Elle magazine also does an article on “11 Best Liquid and Powder Foundation – Favourite Foundation Makeup for your face” which I think is beneficial for you to peruse. It has the Editor’s Picks, and I love how they chose the Dior Diorskin Forever Perfect Makeup Broad Spectrum 35. It is non-oily and easily blendable. I think Elle magazine had the perfect 12 choices, and you need to have a look at the link, because it seriously has the best foundation choices that are out there!!!!!

So, if you are preparing yourself for a night out in your town, (or city!). Make sure you have a look at the Top 12, otherwise if you don’t have the money for an expensive foundation, check out the ones that I noted down, as you will love the Maybelline ones.
